About The Position

Halogen Engineering Group is looking for a Software Integration Engineer who will be responsible for delivering fast, reliable, and secure software deployments across a wide range of high-performance computing environments. In this position, the Software Integration Engineer is responsible for orchestrating and managing complex configuration changes and software updates across production systems, ensuring every phase of the delivery lifecycle adheres to the highest standards of security, compliance, and performance. Additionally, the Software Integration Engineer serves as the Tier 3 technical escalation lead, collaborating closely with Operations & Maintenance teams to diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues. This includes conducting in-depth root cause analysis and developing automated remediation strategies that improve system stability, prevent recurrence, and enhance long-term operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance (polygraph must be less than seven years old).
  • Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux Tools.
  • Experience with IaC principles and automation tools using Ansible.
  • Experience developing with Python to develop custom Ansible modules.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, containerd, Podman.
  • Experience creating Helm Charts to deploy containerized services in a Kubernetes environment.
  • Experience with DevOps/GitOps principles, concepts, and best practices creating release candidates for deployment, maintaining, and troubleshooting pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of Git, including branching strategies and tagging.
  • Experience developing comprehensive, high-quality technical documentation for new products and modifications such as installation guides, troubleshooting run books, and architectural diagrams.
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field and at least eight (8) years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.
  • OR Five (5) years full time Computer Science directly related work that can be substituted for a degree and at least eight (8) years of demonstrable experience.
  • OR An industry recognized professional certification, as defined in the TT0s, may substitute as one (1) year experience.
  • A Masters Degree in Computer Science or related field may substitute for two (2) years experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence).
  • Familiar with Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies.
  • Familiar with Datacenter Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools such as Netbox.

Responsibilities

  • Integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.
  • Orchestrating and managing complex configuration changes and software updates across production systems.
  • Ensuring every phase of the delivery lifecycle adheres to the highest standards of security, compliance, and performance.
  • Serving as the Tier 3 technical escalation lead, collaborating closely with Operations & Maintenance teams to diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues.
  • Conducting in-depth root cause analysis and developing automated remediation strategies.
  • Generating documentation for the full software stack.
  • Updating software for sustainment support.
  • Providing software product ownership for HPC tools.
  • Working knowledge of CM tools, web documentation, and issue tracking.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and switch between various architectural paradigms.
