About The Position

The Software Integration Engineer shall be responsible for the test, evaluation, integration, and troubleshooting of the HPC software stack and related system issues. This role requires a strong understanding of HPC systems, Linux environments, and scripting for automation and problem-solving. The engineer will also be involved in documentation, software updates, performance testing, and potentially developing software tool plugins.

Requirements

Experience with the Linux CLI, and the Linux suite of tools
Extensive recent experience using Bash/Python to develop scripts
Solid understanding of the Slurm resource management and job scheduling tool
Experience with integration, evaluation, and system administration of HPC systems
Experience troubleshooting HPC system problems, including basic system administration tasks, including software stack issues and hardware issues
Experience with IaC principles and automation tools such as Salt and Ansible
Familiar with HPC shared file systems such as Lustre, GPFS, and Panasas
Familiar with system monitoring tools such as Ganglia and Nagios
Familiar with acceleration technologies such as GPU, FPGA, and ASICs
Familiar with high-speed network interconnect technologies such as InfiniBand and Slingshot
Familiar with open-source industry-standard HPC benchmark tooling
Ability to troubleshoot problems with a rigorous, analytical approach that enables diagnosis of root causes and discovery of mitigation/solution paths
Ability to integrate, install, configure, upgrade, compile, and support COTS/GOTS software
Generate documentation for the full software stack
Update software for sustainment support
Basic Linux system administration skills and shell scripting
Execute test codes for characterization of software performance
Provide software product ownership for HPC tools
Working knowledge of CM tools, web documentation, and issue tracking
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and switch between various architectural paradigms
Develop software tool plugins in the language in which the tools are written
Determine the optimal, or best available, HPC configuration for customer needs
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and at least ten (10) years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.
Five (5) years full time Computer Science directly related work that can be substituted for a degree and have at least ten (10) years of demonstrable experience.

An industry recognized professional certification, as defined in the TT0s, may substitute as one (1) year experience.
A Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field may substitute for two (2) years' experience.
