About The Position
TekSystems is currently hiring for REMOTE Software Experts. This role would be based out of CA but can sit remotely anywhere! The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms. This is a Contract position based out of Menlo Park, CA. This is a fully remote position. This position is anticipated to close on Sep 17, 2026.
Requirements
- Proficient, hands-on experience with the target software — you use it (or have used it professionally) and know its features, workflows, and quirks in depth.
- Professional or academic background in the software's domain (e.g., finance, engineering, science, analytics, operations).
- Ability to complete non-trivial, realistic tasks in the application without external help.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to document steps clearly and reproducibly.
- Comfort working on Windows or Linux environments.
- Clear written communication in English.
- Reliability in following task instructions and quality standards.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with data annotation, QA, or task-based evaluation work.
- Familiarity with multiple tools within the same domain.
Responsibilities
- Perform, record, and clearly document real, end-to-end tasks in your area of software expertise.
- Break complex workflows into precise, step-by-step actions (menus, clicks, inputs, outputs).
- Create representative task scenarios that reflect how professionals actually use the software.
- Review and evaluate agent-generated actions and outputs for correctness, efficiency, and realism.
- Provide structured feedback and quality annotations to improve model performance.
- Flag edge cases, ambiguities, and failure modes in software workflows.
