Software Engineers - AI Code Licensing Program
About The Position
This is a remote, worldwide code-licensing and revenue opportunity for software developers, tech founders, engineering teams, and code owners who have an existing software repository they have the rights to license. Eligible submissions may include codebases from abandoned startups or discontinued products, personal or side projects that are no longer maintained, internal tools and automation, previous SaaS products and applications, and other original software repositories with clear ownership. Projects do not need to have been commercially successful or remain actively maintained. Applicants submit a repository for an initial assessment of its potential licensing value. The repository is evaluated against applicable acceptance criteria, and qualifying submissions may proceed to licensing discussions. If a transaction is completed, compensation is provided according to the agreed licensing terms. The process is intended to help code owners understand the potential value of their repositories without entering a traditional development engagement. For standard non-exclusive licensing, the stated reference rates are $100 per 1 million source-code tokens and $40 per 1 million Git-history tokens. Each repository is assessed individually, and owners can review its estimated value before deciding whether to proceed.
Requirements
- Software development experience or ownership of an existing software product, application, or repository.
- Full ownership or legal rights to license the submitted source code.
- Access to the original code repository.
- Submitted code must not contain third-party material the submitter is not permitted to sublicense.
