Software Engineering Manager

About The Position

Renuity is looking for a Software Engineering Manager that will lead a small, cross-functional team responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining our marketing technology and digital presence stack. This hands-on, full-stack engineering role requires you to write code while managing 5-7 direct reports and is a dedicated partner to our marketing team. In this role you will collaborate with product management, marketing, data/analytics, and other teams to build and maintain consumer-facing Web applications, integrate with marketing tools and technologies (CRM, ESP, CDP, etc.), and ensure consistent reporting and tracking across marketing and digital properties. In addition to leading technical initiatives, you will provide leadership, strategic direction, and foster innovation as you mentor your team to ensure best practices and documentation. A coding assessment will be required to validate your technical expertise.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software development experience, with a strong background in front end technologies (JavaScript, HTML/CSS, React/Next.js)
  • Understanding of back-end technologies such as Ruby, PHP, Python, Go, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of leveraging and using APIs through a diverse set of 3rd party solutions.
  • Experience with Sanity.io or similar CMS platforms
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS or GCP) for hosting and managing servers
  • Experience with networking protocols (http, firewall rules, DNS, etc)
  • Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools (Jira, Trello, or similar)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Github Actions, Terraform)
  • Hands-on experience with SEO, Google Analytics, Posthog, Google Tag Manager, Adobe Analytics (or similar analytics platforms)
  • Familiarity with marketing automation platforms
  • Understanding of lead management processes and CRM systems (Salesforce or other)
  • Track record of building and integrating marketing technology solutions for attribution, user segmentation, and audience targeting
  • Track record of building secure consumer-facing web sites and applications with an understanding of privacy and accessibility requirements and regulations
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to gather requirements, scope projects, and communicate timelines effectively

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a marketing technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with overall marketing and business objectives
  • Communicate progress, roadblocks, and outcomes effectively to executive leadership and key stakeholders
  • Implement and maintain tracking strategies for offline-to-online activities (e.g., call tracking, channel tracking and offline tracking)
  • Identify and build tools to ingest, process, and automate data from various marketing services (e.g., CRM, marketing automation, ad platforms)
  • Collaborate with product management to scope, plan, and prioritize development projects based on stakeholder requirements and business impact.
  • Document all work, so that it is easy to onboard new resources and create repeatable processes.
  • Write and commit code personally, as well as perform code reviews with your team.
  • Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performance marketing technology team
  • Leverage A/B testing or multivariate testing tools
  • Leverage analytics services like Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Posthog and other third-party tracking services
  • Implement and integrate with Lifecycle marketing solutions
  • Build and maintain consumer facing applications to facilitate the opportunity lifecycle from lead to sale to installation, using technologies such as React/Next.js and Sanity.io CMS or similar platforms.
