About The Position

Teradyne is seeking a Software Engineering Manager with cross-functional management skills to lead an internal core software development team. This role is crucial in partnering with other product development functions to enable the team to develop software that achieves business goals. The manager will provide architectural and technical guidance, oversee the delivery of ATE software, and lead an agile team in designing, implementing, and testing core software features for releases. Key responsibilities include proactively managing and mitigating technical risks, executing effectively, reviewing and implementing process improvements (such as continuous integration, quality metrics, and operational practices), setting organizational strategy-aligned goals, providing coaching and mentorship, cultivating a product-first mindset with an emphasis on candor, accountability, and collaboration, fostering team career development, and hiring/growing new talent while managing team elements across multiple geographic locations.

Requirements

5+ years of direct management, project and technical leadership, and/or team leadership experience
10+ years in software sustaining or software development
Experience in the semiconductor industry
Strong organizational and project management skills especially ability to work cross-functionally
Ability to lead and motivate others, communicating vision, setting goals and objectives, monitoring metrics and progress, and empowering the team to be successful
Ability to set clear direction and priorities, organize activities, and lead the team to hit project objectives
Strong communication skills, ability to communicate at different levels of abstraction, and provide periodic updates to senior management and directors
Thorough knowledge of risk management, and failure modes and effects analysis
Understanding of time-to-market, cost-of-test, yield management, and relevant production concepts
Demonstrable ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly with an in depth understanding of Excel
Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university required

Nice To Haves

Understanding of the automated test equipment industry desired
Experience with C#/VBA, embedded, and multi-threaded programming a plus
Experience with HW/DC instrumentation projects is a plus
Creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems
Strong commitment to product quality
Demonstrated experience in process development
Experience with Agile and Waterfall software development process, Proficiency using tools like JIRA
Full product life cycle experience from concept to customer support is a plus
Master's degree in EE/CS or MBA a plus

Responsibilities

Providing architectural and technical guidance in the development and overseeing the delivery of our ATE software
