About The Position

The F-15 Mission Systems (MSS) Team is seeking a Software Engineering Manager (Level K) to lead a group of approximately 20 software engineers within up to three scrum teams on the F-15 Mission Systems Agile Release Train. This role is crucial for enabling the F-15 Program to expand its domestic and international business and advance fighter aircraft technology. The team develops real-time embedded Operational Flight Program (OFP) software for critical F-15 components like the Advanced Display Core Processor (ADCP) Mission Computer and the upcoming Mission Computer Architecture (MCA). This software enhances the F-15's mission capabilities by integrating various sub-systems and weapons. The team is responsible for the design, coding, and testing of OFP software, as well as supporting system and subsystem requirements development. Products are developed for both USAF and international customers, including current and future USAF work on Suite upgrade programs and the F-15EX new build aircraft, as well as international clients such as Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Japan, and South Korea, with potential for future sales and upgrades.

Requirements

  • Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership”
  • 5 or more years of experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required for security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Experience in aircraft, avionics, flight controls, and/or other electronics
  • Experience in object-oriented software development
  • Experience in Ada, C/C++, Python, GIT, JIRA, GitLab, and DOORS
  • Experience in Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for delivery of program software products within cost and schedule
  • Responsible for coordination with program management, suppliers, and other Boeing teams
  • Provide technical guidance to team members
  • Perform all managerial HR functions
  • Perform Cost Account Manager duties for the team’s control accounts
  • Lead effectively through the SAFe paradigm
  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
