Position Summary As a co-op or intern within our Software Engineering department, you will have the opportunity to join either the Enterprise Development Team or the Application Development Team. You will gain hands-on experience by carrying out the same day-to-day responsibilities as a full-time, entry-level engineer. A description of each team is provided below: The Enterprise Development Team (EDT): Focuses on the software applications, enterprise libraries, and data-driven database solutions that improve business/manufacturing efficiency, management decision making, and other strategic objectives. Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, Business Intelligence (BI), data analytics, and/or DevOps is a plus but not a requirement. Day-to-day programming involves C#, advanced SQL, BI dashboards/SSRS reporting, Python, and some JavaScript. The Application Development Team (ADT): Focuses on the applications and front-end features/functionality of Aerotech’s motion control software. This involves both the design and implementation of user interfaces with a focus on user experience, and the coding that interfaces with the lower levels of the software stack. Day-to-day programming involves C# coding and WPF UI development. Note: Internships typically last approximately three (3) months within a single summer.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) degree program in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, or Information Science from an ABET accredited college or university
- Must maintain a GPA of 3.25 or above.
- Currently accepting applications for Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors that plan to attend graduate school, and current Graduate students.
- Thorough knowledge of an object-oriented (e.g., C++, C#, Java) programming language
- Must be authorized to work in the US without employer sponsorship. Aerotech does not provide U.S. work authorization sponsorship for this position. OPT and CPT visa holders are not eligible for employment if they will need work authorization sponsorship at any time in the future.
- Must be authorized to work in the US currently and in the future without employer sponsorship.
Nice To Haves

- Strong understanding of geometry, basic calculus, and/or data structures
Responsibilities
- Develops new or modifies existing enterprise, library, or application level software under the supervision of experienced engineers
- Debugs software problems involving Aerotech or third-party software products
- Conducts tests to verify the implementation of new software features and validate use cases
- Documents and organizes test results for review by senior engineers
