About The Position

The Electrical Engineer Co-op or Intern will work alongside other Electrical Engineers to prepare drawings, calculations, and other deliverables for our clients’ design projects. The position will also require interface with team members in our other engineering disciplines to provide cohesive engineering packages to our clients.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree (or equivalent education) in Electrical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university
Effective communication skills in order to convey ideas is a must
Ability to work within diverse teams assembled from Nexus, clients, and others
Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word
Seeks feedback to improve performance
Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States and must be able to maintain that authorization throughout employment without any action, filing, or sponsorship by the company. This requirement applies both at the time of hire and on a continuing basis for the duration of employment.

Nice To Haves

Experience with AutoCAD or other drafting software preferred
Familiarity with Power System Modeling software (ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower) is desirable

Responsibilities

Complete calculations of limited complexity, with supervision as needed; may include lighting distribution, conduit/cable fills, voltage drop, feeder sizing, etc.
Develop and maintain Electrical Single Line Diagrams, Schematic/Interconnection Diagrams, Conduit/Cable Schedules, Plans for Lighting, Grounding, Power, Controls, Raceway, etc.
Support the development of Power System Study models for short circuit, load flow, protective device coordination and arc flash calculations efforts
Assist experienced Electrical Engineers with their activities as requested
