Our Software Sensors: Ground Radars & Platforms Department is looking for a software engineering intern to support development, test, and other tasks throughout a software life cycle for software applications. This position is for a Software Engineering Intern who has educational experience in the development and implementation of software for mission critical applications. Use and provide creative solutions to complex technical system and software integration problems. Work closely with other software engineers and systems engineers to design ideal solutions with the end user and operational needs in mind. Support all aspects of a software development life cycle as a member of a multi-disciplined team. This includes supporting new and legacy military and commercial programs from concept and requirements, to design, development, integration, test, and potentially subsequent maintenance tasking.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in an applicable discipline and actively enrolled through completion of the internship / co-op session.
  • Demonstrated programming experience with one or more object-oriented languages such as C++, C# or Java.
  • Classroom or other experience with software life-cycle stages such as requirements, design, development, integration, and test.
  • Able to work closely in a multi-discipline team daily.
  • Strong Analytical skills.
  • Developing software in a Linux environment.
  • Understanding of software systems design, integration, and management.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Active Secret security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using a Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), e.g., Linux, Green Hills (GH) Integrity, VxWorks, or other
  • Experience using software optimization techniques and timing analysis to ensure real-time operation and synchronization of software products
  • Proficiency utilizing software debugging tools to troubleshoot software implementation and ensure integrity of the software products
  • Experience developing requirements for software products
  • Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to difficult technical problems
  • Experience with integrated development tools such as Azure, Git, Atlassian Suite, Jenkins, Eclipse, and Ansible
  • Experience working in a continuous integration/continuous development pipeline
  • Working knowledge and experience in an Agile development environment
