About The Position

This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field and will be at minimum Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Post Grad year by summer 2027. The selected candidate will intern with Raytheon during summer 2027 as part of the Raytheon Fellowship Program. Participants will be submitted for a national security clearance. Participants may be eligible to receive a $10,000 signing bonus, and an additional $10,000 signing bonus upon converting to full-time employee status post-graduation. Participants will sign an offer agreement, committing to remain with Raytheon for a minimum of two years after becoming a full-time employee. Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field and will be at minimum Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Post Grad year by summer 2027.
  • Software development experience with Java in a Unix/Linux environment
  • Familiarity with agile development and version control systems such as GIT
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government–issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python
  • Familiarity with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins or Maven or GITLAB
  • Experience or familiarity with Agile development practices

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing development, integration, test and documentation duties to ensure proper operation of hardware and software platforms.
  • Integrate a wide variety of applications from various sources, integrate and ensure they meet performance standards for stability and utilization
  • Develop software as necessary to integrate between components, perform new capabilities, to facilitate testing, etc.
  • Adhere to accepted standards for development, including writing unit tests which provide a high percentage of code overage, participating in code peer reviews, conducting design reviews, and generating test plans to ensure maximum stability and quality of code
