About The Position

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories seeks a Software Engineering Intern to join our Engineering Services team. This successful individual will be working with a team of engineers to participate in design, implementation, and test for software tools used for power system protection and control. If you are looking for an opportunity to advance your career and available to work full time during the summer, part time during the school year, this may be the position for you!

Requirements

  • Current student pursuing a degree in Computer Science or equivalent with at least one year of technical coursework completed, and graduating in May or December 2028.
  • Able to work on-site in Boise, ID full-time in the summer & part-time during the school year.
  • Experience with Python and C#.
  • Understanding of digital logic and Boolean equations.
  • Able to learn new software, understand APIs required to interact with various software platforms.
  • Able to execute and document defined testing procedures.
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
  • Able to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
  • Able to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL & negative drug test result(s).

Nice To Haves

  • Optional experience with VBA, Java, Perl, Ruby and C++.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting SEL’s software development process.
