About The Position

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is looking for someone to join our Protection Systems team as a Power Engineering Intern in Pullman, Washington. Candidates who can work part-time during the academic year and full-time during the summer are encouraged to apply. Please include your resume and unofficial transcript with your application.

A typical day as a Power Engineering Intern might include:
Provide technical support to SEL staff & customers.
Develop and maintain knowledge in SEL processes and technologies.
Perform testing on new and existing technology.
Document and communicate test results.
Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
Understand. Create. Simplify.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Computer Engineering
• Reached junior standing or higher in your academic program
• Ability to use MS Windows.
• Ability to use Microsoft Visio
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
• Background check results satisfactory to SEL
• Negative drug test result(s)

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Electric Power Systems.
• Knowledge of Computer Networks Fundamentals.
• Practical knowledge of SEL protective relays & automation controllers
• Experience in programming and script files
