Power Delivery Engineering Intern
About The Position
Leidos is seeking an Electrical Engineering student to work as a Power Delivery Engineering Intern in its Charlotte, North Carolina office. The intern will partner with senior engineers and other interns to address utility-grid challenges and build skills and expertise in power delivery engineering. Power Delivery Solutions provides transmission, substation, and distribution engineering consulting to utility clients nationwide. In this role, the intern will contribute to project work packages and support engineering projects, including high-voltage transmission-line and low-voltage distribution projects. The position offers exposure to utility clients, multiple engineering disciplines, and power delivery work in both field and office settings.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited university Bachelor of Electrical Engineering program.
- Current GPA of 2.6 or higher.
- Ability to work in both field and office settings.
- Interest in developing skills in transmission, distribution, or substation engineering project work packages.
Responsibilities
- Develop skills in creating work packages for transmission, distribution, or substation engineering projects.
- Assist with preparing project deliverables, including engineered drawings, technical reports, project-related correspondence, and other project documentation.
- Assist the team in developing processes and procedures to improve project execution efficiency.
- Provide technical and project support for high-voltage transmission-line and low-voltage distribution projects.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, other interns, and colleagues across engineering disciplines.
