Summer Internship Program 2027 - Software Engineering Intern, Java
About The Position
The ICE Internship Program provides hands-on work on impactful business projects alongside career and professional development. Interns participate in weekly sessions led by industry leaders, connect with fellow interns, and learn about the financial services, technology, and mortgage industries. The Software Engineering Intern will support a re-platform initiative for ICE's Home Lending Servicing solution, helping move it to a cloud-native, microservices-based architecture. The internship runs on one of two schedules: May 24, 2027–August 6, 2027, or June 7, 2027–August 20, 2027. Interns must be available to work full-time, five days a week, at the Jacksonville office for the entire duration of one selected schedule; partial participation and alternate dates are not accommodated.
Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited university and be at least advancing to their junior year of study.
- Experience with Java.
- Experience with microservice architecture.
- Experience with Python for orchestration.
- Must be available to work full-time, five days a week, at the Jacksonville office for the entire duration of one of the designated program schedules.
Nice To Haves
- Full-stack development experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with software development in Java and Python, using coding assistants such as Claude Code.
- Debug applications with assistance from coding assistants such as Claude Code.
- Develop and enhance APIs and microservices.
- Support SDLC practices such as story refinement.
- Perform additional duties and contribute to projects as assigned.
