About The Position

Samsara is seeking Software Engineering Interns to work on high-impact engineering challenges across their connected operations platform. Interns may contribute to backend infrastructure, full-stack development for user experiences, mobile development with React Native, or embedded software for hardware. The role involves working with technologies like Golang, TypeScript, React, GraphQL, and React Native. Interns will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on industries that power the global economy, focusing on scale, customer value, and innovation. The internship is a paid, full-time experience.

Requirements

Currently a junior-year student on track to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science between Spring/Summer/Fall 2028 or Winter 2029.
Experience with technologies similar to Golang, TypeScript, React, GraphQL, and React Native is strongly encouraged.
Demonstrated curiosity and self-drive, evidenced by participation in hackathons, side projects, or a desire to understand how things work.
Ability to move fast, embrace new technology, and engage in continuous learning.
A proactive approach to tackling complex problems and owning them end-to-end.
Experience weaving AI into work processes for tasks like debugging, code drafting, or problem exploration.
Strong collaboration skills, working well independently and across cross-functional teams.
Must not be enrolled in school full-time while working at Samsara.

Responsibilities

Build backend infrastructure for the IoT platform, scaling data ingestion and storage systems.
Develop full-stack features, creating user experiences that turn data into actionable insights.
Strengthen the infrastructure behind the React Native app.
Build and maintain software that runs directly on Samsara hardware, including areas like edge AI, multimedia frameworks, power management, and real-time data processing.
Participate in customer interviews and collaborate with success and product teams.
Use metrics to ensure work translates into real customer outcomes.
