About The Position

Summer 2027 Software Engineering Intern (Onsite) at RTX. This internship offers an exceptional foundation to work on complex problems, advance skills, and create a safer, more connected world in the aerospace and defense industry. Engineering Interns at Pratt & Whitney work on challenging, meaningful, and impactful projects, developing an understanding of the aerospace industry, the company, and its operations. The role involves actively developing, testing, demonstrating, and deploying new or existing in-house software, and helping the team execute specific digital/software roadmaps. Interns will learn about the latest technologies used on military fighter engines, how technical data supports 5th generation weapon system products, and how to implement next-generation digital solutions. They will also learn to use CORE principles to drive process improvements.

Requirements

Enrolled in a degree program in computer engineering and or computer science and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Experience creating software with common programming languages (C#, C++, Python, Java, JavaScript, Rust, R, SQL, and or FORTRAN).
Experience with O365 Tools, Visio, MS Teams, and Visual Studios.

Nice To Haves

Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with teammates, stakeholders, and management.
Some experience with Agile/Scrum principles
Some experience using GitHub to manage software versioning.
Some experience using ZenHub to manage software tasks.
Strong writing skills to aid in the creation of method memos, release notes, software design documents, user manuals, and software requirement documents.
