About The Position

Activision is looking for talented and innovative students to join our teams for summer 2027. All interns will receive a meaningful project and an unparalleled experience. We’ll provide the tools and resources you need to learn. The challenging and creative work you do throughout your internship will directly impact the team you are contributing to. All internships will be conducted in-person. Hosting managers will determine when and how often interns work in the office. All interns will have the option to opt into relocation services (flights, trains, or car mileage reimbursement). Additionally, all interns will be provided with a living stipend to subsidize housing, utility, commuting, and miscellaneous costs.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree program and graduating December 2027 – June 2028
  • Available to participate in a 12-week internship starting in mid-May or mid-June
  • Currently residing in the US or open to relocating oneself to the US
  • Exhibits learning agility; has the ability to think differently, and/or grasp and apply new skills and concepts
  • Approaches problems in a clear, well-organized, and solutions-oriented manner
  • Works well with others and contributes to team tasks
  • Able to effectively communicate problems, solutions, needs, or priorities
  • Is engaged, seeks to learn, and is able to manage time effectively
  • A passion for significantly impacting game development

  • Experience with C++, Python, or C# in software development
  • Familiarity with SQL, Spark, or Presto for data analysis
  • Exposure to game engines (Unreal, Unity) and debugging tools
  • Interest in backend systems, build pipelines, and performance optimization
  • Skilled in Python, JavaScript, and Linux/Unix environments
  • Experience with GitHub, Perforce, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiar with front-end frameworks and web development
  • Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS or GCP
  • Passionate about game design, tooling, and developer productivity
  • Experience with Python, C#, or other scripting/programming languages
  • Familiarity with software development, build systems, or CI/CD pipelines
  • Interest in automation, DevOps, and release management
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams
  • Passion for gaming and technology
  • Exhibits learning agility and can quickly apply new skills and concepts
  • Proficient in at least one common language (C/C++, Go, Python, Rust) and familiarity with others.
  • Understanding of source control.
  • Familiarity with both IDE and CLI-based workflows.
  • Knowledge of (or curious about!) any of the following: Windows and Linux internals, networking (and network security), container development, and data storage methods.

Responsibilities

  • Build backend systems and tools that support data-driven optimization across game development workflows.
  • Collaborate with engineers and content creators to analyze performance, streamline pipelines, and improve developer tools.
  • Build and support custom tools that streamline game development workflows.
  • Contribute to scripting, automation, and front-end interfaces for internal systems used by designers and engineers.
  • Collaborate across teams to improve developer experience and infrastructure.
  • Support the technology and processes that power game releases across Activision studios.
  • Partner with engineers to improve build pipelines, automate workflows, and help teams deliver high-quality game updates and releases.
  • Come work on interesting challenges that will improve the workflows of everyone working on Call of Duty.
  • Work on developer tools, back-end hardware, cloud infrastructure, and more!
