Software Engineering Intern - Spring 2027
About The Position
This internship program is designed for individuals enrolled in an academic program who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in software engineering. Interns will receive mentorship from experienced engineers, work with technologies like TypeScript and Haskell, and contribute to a product used by over 300,000 businesses. The program offers opportunities to join teams aligned with intern goals and interests, with specific roles available in Backend, Frontend, and Full-stack engineering. The internship is a paid, full-time, remote position lasting 12-16 weeks between January and May. Requirements
- Be interested in continually honing their craft.
- Have curiosity and be willing to share their perspective.
- Appreciate quality in their work and that of others.
- Communicate well, and be able to write clear explanations of their reasoning on technical decisions.
- Experience using the Haskell programming language, or a strong desire to learn it (Backend and Full-stack).
- Some familiarity with SQL (Backend and Full-stack).
- Experience with the TypeScript programming language (Frontend and Full-stack).
- Experience with React is a plus (Frontend).
- Be enrolled in an academic program (undergraduate, graduate, etc.).

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with data analysts to spec and build features that draw new customers to our product.
- Provide a backend to our mobile and web frontends, to do things like search transactions or send wire transfers.
- Build admin tools to increase the efficiency of day-to-day support operations, like identifying fraudulent customers or managing accounts.
- Integrate with third-party APIs, to do things like send checks or validate SWIFT codes.
- Work on a beautiful app with high UI standards.
- Push the limits of TypeScript by utilizing advanced static typing features to prevent errors.
- Work in an established codebase with room for growth, building abstractions and components.
- Exercise ownership over the product, working closely with designers and contributing ideas.
- Do a combination of frontend and backend work (for Full-stack interns).
