About The Position

At PNC, the Software Engineering Group Manager is part of the Technology organization and leads an architecture team aligned exclusively to the Asset Management Group (AMG) line of business. The team focuses on data, automation, and artificial intelligence architecture, translating AMG business priorities into technology strategies, target-state architectures, reference patterns, and delivery roadmaps. The position is based in Philadelphia, Columbus, Dallas, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, or Denver. PNC describes itself as an in-office company and encourages candidates to discuss workplace expectations with their recruiter and hiring manager. This management-level role builds, leads, and develops an AMG Technology architecture team dedicated to data, automation, and AI. It connects AMG's current technology environment to future objectives by defining architecture direction, guiding solution design, evaluating technology options, and establishing reusable patterns for wealth and asset management businesses. The role is the primary design and decision authority for these architecture domains within AMG Technology, operating within enterprise standards and governance. The manager develops AMG strategies, target-state and reference architectures, standards, patterns, and roadmaps; guides solution teams through strategy, discovery, design, planning, delivery, and modernization; and helps evaluate, select, standardize, and responsibly scale capabilities. The work includes improving data quality and access, automating business processes, enabling analytics and AI, and reducing unnecessary duplication. The role collaborates with AMG business and technology leaders, Enterprise Architecture, Risk, Cybersecurity, Data Management, delivery teams, and other control and enterprise stakeholders. It requires clear communication with executives and practitioners, trusted relationship-building, architecture talent development, and the ability to turn emerging needs into actionable decisions. The successful candidate will bring leadership experience and depth in data, solution, platform, automation, or AI/ML architecture, along with working knowledge of business architecture and financial services controls. The role includes team and talent management, architecture governance, strategic consultation, product and platform evaluation, architecture reviews, and guidance on responsible use of data and AI. PNC will not provide employment visa sponsorship or participate in STEM OPT for this position.
