About The Position

State Street Bank and Trust Company in Boston, MA is seeking a Software Engineering & Development professional for its Global Cybersecurity team. This role is responsible for designing and developing the Company’s Identify Access Management and Role-Based Access Control (IAM/RBAC) systems for the Company’s IT systems. This is a management role that also functions as a hands-on contributor. The position involves designing a robust Role Management IT Framework, identifying necessary tools and technologies, building and delivering a strategic RBAC framework, and determining computer software and hardware requirements. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to communicate system dependencies and risks, testing, maintaining, and monitoring computer programs and systems, and troubleshooting malfunctions. It also includes expanding or modifying systems to serve new purposes, developing and documenting system design procedures, assessing and adapting pre-developed application packages, defining system goals, and providing user assistance. The role requires using object-oriented programming languages, client/server applications development processes, and multimedia and internet technology. Additionally, the role involves managing junior staff for role mining activities and supervising computer programmers and systems analysts, serving as a project leader for systems projects. Telecommuting within the United States is permitted.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • 10 years of experience in Application development with java technologies
  • 5 years of experience working with cybersecurity in large financial institutions
  • 5 Years of experience architecting, designing & implementing large-scale IAM Systems
  • Demonstrated solid communication skills and ability to promote critical wins and new behaviors throughout the organization
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven experience leading teams of engineers and full stack developers
  • Technology expertise in one of the core programming languages (Java, Python)

Responsibilities

  • Designing a robust Role Management IT Framework
  • Identifying tools and technologies required to effectively manage roles
  • Building and driving delivery of strategic RBAC framework
  • Determining computer software and hardware needed to set up and/or alter system
  • Collaborating with cross functional teams to communicate system dependencies and risks
  • Testing, maintaining, and monitoring computer programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of computer programs and systems
  • Troubleshooting program and system malfunctions to restore normal functioning
  • Expanding and/or modifying system to serve new purposes and/or improve work flow
  • Developing, documenting, and revising system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards
  • Assessing the usefulness of predeveloped application packages and adapting them to a user environment as needed
  • Defining the goals of the system and devising flow charts and diagrams describing logical operational steps of programs
  • Providing staff and users with assistance solving computer-related problems, such as malfunctions and program problems
  • Using object-oriented programming languages, as well as client and server applications development processes and multimedia and internet technology
  • Managing junior staff to perform role mining activities
  • Supervising computer programmers and other systems analysts and serving as project leader for particular systems projects
