About The Position

Motorola Solutions’ Vehicle Intelligence Theia Team develops and supports the Theia LPR Application Suite for license plate recognition data processing and device management. The team is seeking a Software Engineering Co-op to work alongside senior engineers on scalable cloud solutions for secure LPR data distribution, AI-driven capabilities in the Theia ecosystem, edge-awareness features such as camera scene change detection, and a Vehicle Intelligence Operations Notification system.

The co-op will develop machine learning and AI functionality using Elastic Elasticsearch, integrate AI capabilities, machine learning features, and analytics tools into software solutions, and build supporting search, reporting, visualization, and agent-development capabilities. The role is open to candidates residing anywhere in the United States and is designated as an internship position.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree with a graduation date of December 2027 or later.
• Legal authorization to work indefinitely in the United States; employer work permit sponsorship is not available.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of Python and TypeScript.
• Knowledge of Elastic KQL and ESQL scripting.
• Knowledge of Elastic Elasticsearch machine learning design and programming.
• Familiarity with Elastic Kibana reporting functionalities.
• Knowledge of AI Agent Development Kit (ADK) design and development.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of the Go programming language; desired but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate machine learning and AI capabilities using Elastic Elasticsearch functionalities.
• Write scripts and queries using Elastic KQL and ESQL for data search, analysis, and retrieval.
• Build reporting and visualization tools using Elastic Kibana functionalities.
• Design and develop AI agents using the AI Agent Development Kit (ADK).
• Implement clean, maintainable, and scalable code in Python and TypeScript.
