Software Engineering Co-op (Spring/Summer 2027)

About The Position

This is a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session that will run January-August. Students are expected to take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity. The role involves working within a team of Systems and Software engineers to design, develop, and test software features for software solutions that are integrated into helicopters and planes. The position also requires integrating soft skills such as leadership, communication, coordination, and proactiveness into a dynamic environment that provides quality and timely products to internal and external customers. Travel (domestic and international <10%) may be required as needed.

Requirements

Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
Must have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
Experience with C, C++, ADA, and/or Python.
U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

Ability to draft System and/or Software Requirements
Pilot/Avionics Experience (i.e. Private Pilot, Aircraft Maintenance, DO-178 Certification)
Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
