This is a role well suited for a highly motivated student looking to build their skill set and gain hands-on experience. As an Embedded Software Engineering Co-op, you will be involved in all aspects of embedded systems development, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing and documentation of the motion control and detector subsystems for molecular imaging cameras. This includes safety critical motions, and mitigations to prevent accidents across multiple axes of motion. You will be expected to write and test embedded software, execute written test procedures, document results, and to recognize/isolate system anomalies. Tasks include writing code (C/C++) for embedded systems, troubleshooting, testing, and documentation of results. You will work with firmware and electrical engineers for the motion control and detector subsystems, and assist with development and test. You will provide support for system host emulator, as well as assist in the loading of software in the lab. You will also help address issues arising from the Defect Handling Board, and may be asked to help out with certain administrative tasks.
