About The Position

Ameriprise Financial, Inc. seeks a Software Engineer in Minneapolis, MN. This role involves designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting application software. The engineer will collaborate with customers, business analysts, technology, and project teams to understand business requirements and drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. These solutions must align with business and technology strategies and comply with organizational architectural standards. The position also includes providing technical guidance to the development team throughout the full software life cycle and writing code that adheres to established standards, procedures, and techniques, while maintaining the integrity of existing program logic.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field.
5 years of progressively responsible experience working with SAS administration, Python, Pyspark, PowerShell and major relational database management system (RDBMS) such as SQL Server, Oracle and PostgreSQL.
Experience in developing applications targeting a major cloud service such as AWS, Azure and GCP.
Knowledge of development tools such as Visual Studio, Git, SQL Server Management Studio.
Knowledge of CICD/automation tools such as Jenkins and Ansible.

Responsibilities

Design, code, test, implement, maintain, and support application software that is delivered on time and within budget.
Work closely with customers, business analysts, technology, and project teams to understand business requirements.
Drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions that are aligned with business and technology strategies, and comply with the organization's architectural standards.
Provide technical guidance to the development team through the full software life cycle.
Write code that adheres to coding standards, procedures, and techniques.
Maintain the integrity of existing program logic according to specifications.
