Software Engineer: Internship Opportunities

About The Position

As a Software Engineering Intern at Microsoft, you will build end-to-end product experiences across user interfaces, APIs, and backend services. You will collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to create intuitive, accessible, high-quality experiences for customers. Your work may span the full development lifecycle, including designing responsive user interfaces, building scalable services, testing and debugging, and iterating on features based on customer feedback. The role offers an opportunity to strengthen full-stack engineering skills while contributing to products used by millions of people worldwide. Interns work on real-world projects with teams across the world and can explore their interests while developing solutions using cutting-edge technology.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, with at least one semester or term remaining after the internship.
OR currently pursuing a master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, with at least one semester or term remaining after the internship.

Nice To Haves

1+ year of programming experience.
6+ months of experience delivering projects in teams.
1+ year of experience developing and applying data structures and algorithms.
Coursework, projects, or prior experience building end-to-end applications.

Responsibilities

Apply engineering principles to solve complex problems through sound and creative engineering.
Work with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a feature.
Learn new engineering methods quickly and incorporate them into work processes.
Seek feedback and apply internal or industry best practices to improve technical solutions.
Manage time effectively and complete software projects in a cooperative team environment.
Review current developments and proactively seek knowledge to improve product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance, while driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
Build end-to-end product experiences across user interfaces, APIs, and backend services.
Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to create intuitive, accessible, high-quality customer experiences.
Contribute to designing responsive user interfaces, building scalable services, testing, debugging, and iterating on features based on customer feedback.
