Software Engineer- Simulation Models

Cisco•Milpitas, CA
•$155,000 - $222,600

About The Position

The Software Engineer will define, design, develop, test, debug, release, enhance, and maintain software that accelerates development of Cisco IOS XR and SONiC. The role leads implementation and optimization of simulation software and tools, develops digital twins for routing and AI fabric products, and builds large-scale distributed systems. The engineer applies theoretical and practical knowledge to create functional, system-level models for next-generation routing platforms. Work includes developing virtual board models; modeling and integrating hardware components and packet-processing models; creating simulation software and development tools; validating end-to-end functionality through automated and regression testing; debugging models, drivers, and network operating system software; and providing technical support to engineering teams. The role also offers opportunities to contribute to open-source technologies and communities.
