About The Position

This role requires a Software Engineer with a strong background in developing, integrating, testing, and supporting Unmanned UxS (Unmanned Systems). The ideal candidate will have experience with various UxS groups, proficiency in C/C++, knowledge of autonomous navigation, and experience with agile development environments. A Secret Clearance is required, with eligibility for TS/SCI.

Requirements

  • Must currently have a Secret Clearance and be eligible for a TS/SCI.
  • B.S. in Computer Engineering/ Science, Aerospace Engineering, or applicable engineering or science field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on professional experience with Degree.
  • Minimum of 7 years hands-on professional experience without Degree.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience within the last 5 years supporting Group 1 and/or Group 2 UxS through software development, integration, testing, and/or mission support.
  • Proficient in C, C++ and object-oriented software development methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver working production software in an agile development environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of autonomous navigation and path planning techniques: waypoint navigation, geofencing, dynamic routing, obstacle avoidance, and collision detection algorithms.
  • Extensive knowledge in BetaFlight, ArduPilot, and Px4- 5 years.
  • Experience with sensor fusion techniques (e.g., combining data from IMUs, GPS, cameras, LiDAR) to enhance situational awareness and navigation accuracy.
  • Experience working with ground control software such as QGroundControl for mission planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Experience with the Qt/QML framework for developing user friendly graphical interfaces.
  • Familiarity with MAVLink protocol for communication between UAVs and ground stations.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting for automation, data analysis, and prototyping tasks.
  • Strong understanding of data networking concepts, including TCP/IP protocols.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot network communication issues.
  • Skilled in parsing and reverse engineering complex codebases (e.g., C++, Python) to identify subtle errors in data I communications within hardware and software systems.
  • Experience with CAD.
  • Demonstrated ability to fully build target SW from source files.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Group 3 UxS within the last 5 years may be considered.
  • Experience with commercially available UxS is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting Group 1 and/or Group 2 UxS through software development, integration, testing, and/or mission support.
