About The Position
EverCommerce is seeking a Software Engineer for their Growth Team. This role is remote and based in Canada. EverCommerce is a leading service commerce platform that provides SaaS solutions to help service-based businesses grow, streamline operations, and increase retention. The Invoice Simple brand, part of EverCommerce, is the leading invoice app for contractors, freelancers, and small business owners, helping them save time, stay organized, and look professional. The team uses Typescript and React-based frameworks like NextJS and React Native, with server-side components in Typescript running on Node, Mongo, and PostgreSQL. They emphasize fast releases, continuous delivery, and team responsibility for the entire development lifecycle. The company is focused on improving their craft and collaborating to make Invoice Simple the top invoicing app globally.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional industry experience delivering scalable software solutions as a software engineer.
- 2+ years of experience building smooth, modern apps using React, Typescript, and Tailwind.
- Curious, data-driven, and enjoys asking questions.
- Passionate about crafting innovative, scalable, and robust solutions for open-ended problems.
- Familiarity with Cloud computing services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
- Understanding of common software vulnerabilities and how to address them.
- Deep understanding of the NodeJS ecosystem, and both backend and frontend associated tooling (Webpack, Vite, etc).
- Extensive expertise in database modeling and caching technologies, across both relational and document stores (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc).
- Solid understanding of RESTful API design and construction.
- Experience with large-scale 3rd party integrations.
- Worked across applications in multiple paradigms (object-oriented, functional).
- Familiarity with modern version control and continuous integration solutions (Git, Docker, Github Actions).
- Passionate about automated testing and quality code reviews.
- Experience with agile development methodologies and tools (JIRA, Scrum, Kanban).
- Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Must be eligible to work without sponsorship.
- May require travel to Corporate Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, or other North American office locations.
Nice To Haves
- Worked with massively adopted (100k+ users) applications, either web or mobile.
- Mobile application development experience with React Native.
- Web application development experience with NextJS, with a focus on building server-side components.
- Familiarity with modern AI tooling and usage (Claude Code, Cursor).
- Experience managing in-app subscriptions across multiple platforms.
- Familiarity with setting up data-driven experiments and AB-tests.
- Leadership experience, with a proven ability to mentor and grow the engineering skills of teammates.
- Degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical reference on a small, highly focused team of engineers dedicated to building and supporting the long-term growth of Invoice Simple’s platform.
- Collaborate with engineering and product stakeholders to refine the product roadmap.
- Stay updated with new technologies, frameworks, and tooling to improve the software development lifecycle.
- Assist in planning and driving the execution of product features, actively participating in software development activities, and implementing/shipping code.
- Take a leading role in product refinement sessions.
- Ensure the team delivers high-quality, scalable software solutions that meet customer and business goals.
- Promote easy supportability of team solutions by encouraging good, scalable design, adopting best engineering practices, and setting quality standards.
