BCI is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Technology team, focusing on Master Data Management, market data pipelines, and automation. The role involves designing, developing, and supporting complex ETL/ELT solutions and data processes crucial for BCI’s 24/7 operations. The position will increasingly utilize AI tools and cloud technologies to enhance efficiency and innovation. The Software Engineer will collaborate with business and technical stakeholders in an Agile environment, contributing to the advancement of data engineering practices at BCI, a major institutional investor managing approximately $313.7 billion in assets. This position can be based in either Victoria or Vancouver, with relocation support available. The Technology department is responsible for developing technology solutions that support BCI’s mission and goals, managing business applications and IT infrastructure, and providing support to financial professionals. The department also authors technology directives and conducts disaster recovery planning. The Software Engineer is responsible for the design, development, configuration, testing, and support of software products, collaborating with stakeholders throughout the development process. This role is instrumental in developing customer-focused front-end and back-end business applications in an Agile hybrid environment, ensuring the efficient delivery of high-quality products. The focus is on Master Data Management, market data pipelines, ETL/ELT solutions, and automation, with an increasing emphasis on AI engineering and modern technologies. The Software Engineer will define and deliver projects, support deployments, troubleshoot production issues, and may participate in an on-call rotation. Travel between Vancouver and Victoria may be required.
