About The Position

STR is seeking a Software Engineer to build software that solves complex national security problems. The role involves bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world mission success, working within a multidisciplinary team of software engineers, physicists, mathematicians, and data scientists. The engineer will contribute to taking innovative ideas from concept to deployed implementation. This position is within the Knowledge Exploitation & Decisions Systems Group, focusing on the intersection of AI and human decision-making. Projects include Command & Control (C2) with intuitive human-machine interfaces, Trusted AI & Autonomy using simulation platforms, Advanced Reasoning with graph-based reasoning and evolutionary algorithms, and enhancing language models.

Requirements

BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
2+ years of experience (BS) or recent MS graduate with professional experience building maintainable, well-documented APIs and software in Java.
Comfortable with ambiguity and learning new libraries and languages.
Proficiency in Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
Experience with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka/NATS, and GitLab.
Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
U.S. Citizenship required.
