About The Position

The Software Engineer contributes to the development of a large-scale Command & Control system used to process the SLS/Orion spacecraft and interface with avionics onboard launch and crew vehicles. The role designs, develops, integrates, tests, and documents software components for customized applications. It also supports software builds, application operation, troubleshooting, and real-time anomaly resolution.

Requirements

Ten years of relevant and progressive experience.
Recent experience with large-scale real-time systems.
Linux scripting experience and in-depth experience with the Linux operating system.
Experience must have been gained within the last 10 years.
Ability to analyze information and solve problems.
Experience with software development fundamentals and software development processes.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in computer or system science, information technology, engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
Experience with IBM AIX operating system, system administration, and networking.
Experience with Clonezilla and HP Openview.

Responsibilities

Follow documented OSI build and test procedures.
Troubleshoot and identify script errors.
Maintain and create scripts to support the OSI build process.
Use CMMI-compliant processes to develop, modify, and maintain software source code and applications.
Monitor assigned applications and diagnose and correct errors in logic and coding.
Review user requirements and needs for new software; perform analysis, design, implementation, installation, and documentation for new or acquired software.
Assist with real-time troubleshooting, anomaly resolution, and system recovery as necessary.
Attend meetings and possibly present on matters related to supported applications.
Perform other duties as assigned.
