About The Position

Turing is hiring a Software Engineer to support AI model training and evaluation initiatives. The role involves creating datasets for training, benchmarking, and advancing large language models in collaboration with researchers. Work includes curating code examples, developing solutions, correcting code, and evaluating AI-generated code for efficiency, scalability, and reliability. The position also collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve enterprise AI-driven coding solutions and assess model capabilities across the software engineering lifecycle. The engagement is flexible, requires at least 10 hours per week and up to 40 hours per week, and requires partial overlap with Pacific Time. It is a one-month contractor engagement starting next week, with potential extensions based on performance and fit. Candidates must be based in the US, Canada, or specified Western European countries.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of software engineering experience.
  • Strong expertise building full-stack applications and deploying scalable, production-grade software using modern languages and tools.
  • Deep understanding of software architecture, design, development, debugging, and code quality and review assessment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for clear, structured evaluation rationales.
  • Candidates must be based in the US, Canada, or the listed Western European countries: UK, Netherlands, Italy, or Germany.
  • Must provide partial overlap with Pacific Time.
  • Flexible commitment of at least 10 hours per week, up to 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Curate code examples and build and correct solutions for AI model training initiatives.
  • Evaluate and refine AI-generated code for efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve AI-driven coding solutions against industry performance benchmarks.
  • Build agents that verify code quality and identify error patterns.
  • Develop hypotheses about software engineering lifecycle steps and evaluate model capabilities across prototyping, architecture and API design, production implementation, launch, experimentation, monitoring, and operational maintenance.
  • Design mechanisms that automatically verify solutions to software engineering tasks.
