Software Engineer- Semiconductor Technology (C#/.NET)

Keysight Technologies, Inc.•Santa Rosa, CA
•Onsite

About The Position

Keysight Laboratories' High Frequency Technology Center (HFTC) has a software development group that designs and builds custom software used across Keysight's Santa Rosa wafer fab, test floor, and assembly lines. Its software supports wafer maps, electrical test orchestration and automation, data transformation, and extensions of manufacturing execution systems (MES). The chips produced at the fab are used in Keysight's own instruments. The role focuses on software engineering rather than IT or equipment support, with opportunities to learn from experienced developers and collaborate with the engineers, operators, and technicians who use the software. Most development uses C#/.NET, including desktop applications and test-station software, as well as web applications and APIs built with ASP.NET and backed by SQL Server. Changes are code-reviewed, and builds and tests run automatically. The position is based in Santa Rosa, California, and requires in-person, hands-on work with manufacturing systems. Access to export-controlled goods, software, technology, or technical data is required; candidates must meet the stated U.S. person or government authorization criteria.

  • At least one substantial program built or significantly changed, which the candidate can explain in detail.
  • Basic SQL skills, including joins, grouping, and filtering.
  • Comfort using a debugger and Git.
  • Clear written and spoken communication.

Responsibilities

  • Fix bugs and add features in software used across the fab, including applications, shared libraries, data pipelines, and software on wafer test stations.
  • Help build software for new areas of the fab.
  • Work with the engineers, operators, and technicians who use the software to build what they need.
