About The Position

The Cloud Authorization team at Akamai develops cloud-native services with high reliability and massive scale, forming the underlying authorization service for Akamai's customer portals. This Software Engineer role requires technical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. The successful candidate will be involved in the design, implementation, and maintenance of critical systems, primarily written in Java or Python, which are essential to Akamai's customer portals and handle millions of requests daily.

Requirements

• Have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Demonstrate proficiency in Java and experience working with Linux environments
• Demonstrate experience working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL)
• Have an understanding of the development, management, and deployment of highly scalable cloud-native applications
• Understand Internet protocols, including TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, and TLS/SSL
• Collaborate and effectively communicate with multidisciplinary teams to solve technical and business challenges

Responsibilities

• Working in all stages of software engineering, from concept and design through testing, documenting, and deployment
• Being flexible enough to multitask and deal with multiple urgent situations at a time
• Developing software according to the best coding standards
• Troubleshooting and solving technical issues
• Collaborating with the QA and SRE teams to ensure the quality and safety of our services
