Software Engineer II & Senior Software Engineer - CoreAI Speech Team

Microsoft•Redmond, WA
•$102,100 - $261,000

About The Position

Microsoft's CoreAI Speech Team is building speech technologies and data foundations for next-generation AI experiences. The team is developing an agentic data processing platform that supports the end-to-end data lifecycle for speech and AI model development, including data acquisition and generation, processing, filtering, quality validation, and preparation. The Software Engineer will help design, build, and evolve this platform using technologies such as Python, Apache Spark, and Microsoft Azure to process large-scale speech, audio, text, and other machine learning data. The role focuses on making complex data workflows more scalable, reliable, efficient, and automated, at the intersection of distributed systems, data engineering, speech, and AI. The position involves contributing to platform architecture and implementation, translating engineering, research, and data needs into scalable capabilities, and collaborating with engineers, applied scientists, researchers, and partner teams. Microsoft describes a culture valuing growth mindset, diverse perspectives, and continuous learning.
