About The Position

The Software Engineer develops large-scale applications and distributed systems that collect, process, and deliver significant volumes of data. The role works collaboratively to turn business and customer needs into technical solutions and may involve direct work with customers and external stakeholders to understand requirements, shape features, and support products and systems. The position includes building, designing, developing, and testing software; solving technical problems; participating in research and evaluating systems; maintaining systems; and providing limited product support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 0–2 years of systems development experience.
• Proficiency in computing languages.
• Experience with HTTP protocols.
• Understanding of database architecture.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Aptitude and desire to code.
• Intellectual curiosity and creativity.
• Solid business ethics.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Build complex, large-scale client applications and/or large distributed systems.
• Own discrete tasks and design, develop, and test code.
• Solve simpler technical challenges and problems of limited scope in a timely manner.
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve data quality issues.
• Participate in ongoing research and evaluate new systems.
• Perform discrete coding tasks, potentially within a single work stream.
• Fix bugs and make changes to minor features.
• Follow established coding standards.
• Maintain systems and provide limited product support.
• Collaborate to translate business and customer needs into technical solutions.
• Potentially work directly with customers and external stakeholders to understand requirements and shape new features.
