About The Position

The Software Engineer joins an agile/scrum team that builds and supports a reusable operating environment for automated product testing and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation systems. The role develops modular software that interfaces with test equipment and hardware—including prime mover controllers, loadbanks, power supplies, discrete/analog I/O, and communications networks—and integrates these components into cohesive systems. The engineer collaborates with electrical engineers on wiring, hardware configuration, and test-stand requirements. The work includes developing software tools, supercomputing clusters, and real-time software applications for Automatic Test Equipment using object-oriented design, scripting languages, and C++. The position also provides on-site and remote support to internal development-lab customers, including debugging, operating-system administration, and computer hardware build-up and teardown. The engineer leads software projects from a technical perspective, including design, implementation, and testing, and contributes to financial planning. Development is for Linux and Windows, and the role maintains software documentation and change requests and reviews and updates department processes.
