About The Position

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (P3) to join its Sensors Test Engineering team in Burnsville, Minnesota. The role supports production by defining, designing, developing, troubleshooting, and integrating test software for test solutions used with commercial, military, and defense sensor products. The successful candidate will contribute as an expert individual contributor, investigate and solve technical problems, and deliver solutions for customers. The engineer will lead research, design, development, and testing of software solutions and networks, and troubleshoot software and electrical-device problems on the production line. The role also provides technical guidance on design concepts, requirements, equipment, and coding techniques; designs and reviews major portions of functional test software; and develops processes, procedures, and best practices for test software development in a manufacturing environment. The position works collaboratively with engineers, operators, and technicians and involves presenting technical information and project findings to peers, management, and customers during design reviews. The position offers opportunities to learn how to adapt equipment designs to factory and production conditions, control electrical equipment and systems through software, lead test-software and test-system life-cycle development, identify modernization opportunities, solve complex manufacturing-design problems, and develop engineering strategies and technical roadmaps for senior leadership. This is an onsite U.S.-based role. U.S. citizenship is required to access information under the program or contract; a security clearance is not required.
