About The Position

Usercentrics is hiring a Software Engineer for its MCP Manager team, building a governance and management platform for Model Context Protocol (MCP). The product helps enterprises give AI agents access to business systems while maintaining visibility, security, and control over what those agents can access and do. The role focuses on developing customer-facing governance features such as gateway configuration, identity and access policies, and audit logging. Work is split evenly between a Vue.js front end and Python/Django and TypeScript back-end services running on Google Cloud Platform. The engineer will collaborate with the Product Manager, designer, and other engineers to take features from specification to production and will own the quality of shipped work. The position is part of a small, high-ownership team operating with a startup-like pace within a larger company. The engineer will help develop the product and the team's practices as enterprises move AI agents from experimentation into production.

  • Comfort working in an early-stage, category-creation environment where the playbook is still being written.
  • Clear written and spoken communication in English, and a habit of giving and asking for feedback directly.

  • Turn product specifications and designs into working software, raising questions and tradeoffs early with product and design.
  • Design clear APIs and data models that other engineers can understand and extend.
  • Write automated tests alongside code and help keep the test suite fast and reliable.
  • Review teammates' pull requests thoughtfully and respond constructively to feedback.
  • Investigate and fix bugs, including customer-escalated issues, by tracing problems across the front end, back end, and infrastructure.
  • Use Claude Code and other AI coding assistants to plan, write, test, and review code while taking ownership of shipped work.
  • Share techniques that improve team efficiency and help refine the team's use of AI tooling.
