The LocalFinds team at Walmart develops a platform enabling third-party local sellers to provide same-day pickup and local delivery for Walmart.com customers. Focused on a seamless proximity-based shopping experience, the team delivers advanced features for order fulfillment, returns, and dispute resolution to build customer trust. Emphasizing technical excellence, collaboration, and innovation, the team drives scalable, cloud-native solutions integrating AI technologies. They align engineering efforts with business goals and operational priorities to enhance the overall customer experience while fostering continuous development and mentorship within a high-performing environment.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in designing and delivering scalable, cloud-native software systems with AI integration.
  • Proven ability to lead system-level technical execution, ensuring architectural integrity and operational excellence.
  • Strong expertise in software development lifecycle, DevOps, CI/CD, and maintaining resilient, observable services.
  • Demonstrated skills in mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Proficient in problem solving, debugging, and driving technical decisions aligned with business goals.
  • Effective collaborator with excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Commitment to high standards in software security, reliability engineering, and platform design.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • OR 8 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and joining us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and development of scalable, cloud-native AI-powered software systems, ensuring architectural integrity and reliability.
  • Translate domain-level strategies into system-level implementations, aligning engineering teams and platform stakeholders.
  • Champion DevOps and CI/CD practices to maintain operational readiness, observability, and performance of services.
  • Provide technical guidance through code reviews, incident analysis, and prevention strategies to enhance quality and customer impact.
  • Mentor engineers, fostering continuous learning and high standards in design, testing, and delivery practices.
  • Identify and resolve architectural bottlenecks, driving automation and improving developer experience.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams, communicating complex ideas clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
