About The Position

MintMCP is seeking a Software Engineer to join their AI-native startup. This role involves owning features end-to-end, from conception to production, across gateway infrastructure, enterprise deployments, and agentic systems. The work primarily focuses on backend and infrastructure, but engineers are expected to contribute across the stack, including UI development and connector maintenance. The company utilizes AI tools like Claude and Codex extensively, with a fleet of agents assisting in development, code review, and other operational tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of shipping products, excellent fundamental skills, a focus on product value and customer needs, and a serious approach to infrastructure. Experience with TypeScript, Python, and CockroachDB is beneficial, as is excitement about building with AI agents. Requirements

• Track record of shipping to real users (product, internal tool, open-source project, or serious side project).
• Ability to ship and iterate without waiting for specs or approvals.
• Strong fundamentals and ability to learn fast.
• Care about product value and customer needs over technical purity.
• Take infra seriously, thinking about blast radius, trust boundaries, and impact on customers.
• Ability to read unfamiliar code, reason from first principles, and explain tradeoffs.
• Comfortable across the stack (TypeScript, Python, CockroachDB) or ability to pick up new languages, protocols, and domains fast.
• Excited to build with agents, and to learn when they help and when they hide a problem.
• Already build with AI every day and want room to move without heavy process.

Nice To Haves

• Developer-facing products, protocol or gateway work, or infrastructure at scale.
• Background in security, identity, or permission systems.
• Contributions to open source, MCP servers, or agentic frameworks.
• Design sensibility: engineers who care about design, designers who think about infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Own features end-to-end, from conception to production, across gateway infrastructure, enterprise deployments, and agentic systems.
• Contribute across the stack, including backend, infrastructure, UI development, and connector maintenance.
• Build and deploy agents on the company's platform.
• Shape problems, make architecture, product, and UX calls.
• Harden enterprise paths.
• Design connectors.
• Protect security-sensitive surfaces.
• Catch generated code that is quietly wrong.
