Sensor/Weapons Command & Control Modeling and Simulation Software Engineer

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory•Laurel, MD

About The Position

The Software Engineer for Sensor/Weapon Command & Control works on small teams to design, develop, improve, test, and maintain software supporting missile defense and electronic warfare missions. The role involves developing and maintaining modeling and simulation software systems and analysis tool suites that help improve developmental and deployed defensive systems under degraded, hostile, and uncertain conditions. The engineer works with a data-type-agnostic analysis tool suite for missile defense, refactoring and improving its codebase and creating and maintaining analysis products based on user needs and feedback. The position also works with electronic warfare modeling and simulation frameworks, improving and maintaining their codebase and adding capabilities such as algorithms, interfaces, data sources, and visualizations. The engineer collaborates with government and industry partners to define software architecture, interface requirements, performance metrics, and verification and validation testing.
