About The Position

The Development Team at PPM America, Inc. is responsible for developing and supporting enterprise-grade software and data solutions for internal clients. This includes custom software development using Microsoft .NET, SQL Server, and Office365 platforms, as well as assisting with third-party vendor application implementations, integrations, and upgrades. The team is comprised of four groups: Enterprise Architecture & Design, Corporate Data, Research, & Reporting, Data Solutions, and Enterprise Systems. These groups collaborate to ensure efficient and accurate information flow through both internally developed and vendor-provided software solutions, aligning with PPM's business units.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge and proven working experience as a .NET 7 (or higher) developer.
  • Proficient in C# and working knowledge of .NET languages.
  • Strong knowledge of the GitHub source code repository and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle and development approaches.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts and methods.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL Server services, including SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), to design and integrate data solutions for .NET.
  • Experience working with WebAPI, Entity Framework, ADO.NET, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience working with SaaS platforms, web technologies, and Microsoft Azure Cloud Services.
  • Knowledge of testing and automated testing concepts.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to learn new languages and technologies.
  • Team player with ability to collaborate effectively with other teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree , preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field required.
  • 2+ years of Microsoft full stack developer experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Atlassian’s Jira Software platform (task tracking) preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerBI Desktop preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, create, and maintain on-premises and cloud-hosted custom applications using the Microsoft .NET platform and environment.
  • Design, create, and manage Microsoft SQL Server database objects that support custom applications, including tables, views, and stored procedures.
  • Understand requirements and transform them into functional applications in line with business objectives.
  • Build, test, monitor, and provide continuous improvements through research and development of new features, incremental updates, and application optimization.
  • Collaborate with peers to design best solutions using the Microsoft .NET platform and Microsoft technology stack.
  • Work with all levels of the firm to innovate and build high-quality, full stack software solutions leveraging the versatility of the Microsoft .NET platform and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Maintain and upgrade existing applications and fix issues.
  • Ensure error-free code that adheres to coding practices consistent with existing development projects.
  • Implement best practices and methodologies for security, quality, and maintainability.
  • Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.
