Software Engineer
About The Position
MANTECH seeks an experienced, customer-oriented Software Engineer to join its team in the Ft. Meade, Maryland area, supporting government intelligence agencies and national security missions. The role develops, maintains, and enhances complex software systems based on documented requirements, including analytics, large-data processing, real-time systems, and business management information systems. The engineer may work individually or as part of a team, reviews and tests software components against design requirements, documents test results, and resolves software problem reports. The position also contributes to system design decisions, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of COTS/GOTS products, and translating system-level requirements into software component requirements. The position requires an active TS/SCI with Poly clearance and is onsite.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline and 7+ years of experience as a software engineer; or an Associate’s degree in computer science or a related discipline and 11 years of related experience; or a high school diploma and 13 years of experience.
- Experience developing RESTful web applications.
- Experience with UI development.
- Experience with Linux environments.
- Experience with Docker, containerization, Rancher, and Kubernetes.
- Must have a current, active TS/SCI with Poly clearance.
- Must be able to remain stationary at least 50% of the time.
- Must occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and similar items.
- Must constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, fax machine, or printer.
Nice To Haves
- Python development skills.
- Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD.
- Experience containerizing applications for deployments, such as Rancher/Kubernetes.
- Front-end experience with React/TypeScript.
- Experience working with MongoDB.
- Experience with networking.
- Experience with products such as Cisco Nexus Dashboard Orchestrator, Cisco APICs, vSphere, VMware Horizon View, IPAM, and Keycloak.
- Experience with Ansible and running templates; ability to write playbooks is a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems based on documented requirements.
- Work individually or as part of a team to review and test software components for adherence to design requirements, document test results, and resolve software problem reports.
- Use software development and design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
- Provide input to software components of system design, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, COTS/GOTS use in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
