Software Engineer - Orchestrated Application Recovery
About The Position
The Software Engineer will join Rubrik’s AppFlows team, which is building a Disaster Recovery as a Service offering and an advanced platform to move applications between locations, including leading cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP. This role offers the opportunity to build a cloud solution from the ground up. The engineer will design and develop disaster recovery solutions for on-premises and cloud platforms, with a focus on backend features and appropriate unit testing. The role involves working closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers, and contributing to a collaborative team culture with high standards. Rubrik describes its engineering environment as one that values autonomy, responsibility, self-direction, and comfort with ambiguity.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 2–5+ years of product development experience.
- Ability to identify scalable and elegant solutions to complex problems.
- Strong interest in and ability to learn new technologies.
- Proficiency in Scala, C++, or Java.
- Self-starter who can manage themselves and work comfortably with responsibility and ambiguity.
Nice To Haves
- Backend development experience is valued.
- Experience designing and developing large distributed systems is preferred.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure, or other public cloud technologies.
- Experience with the VMware tech stack.
