About The Position

Menards is looking for a motivated and passionate individual with technical proficiency and experience in a development shop. The successful candidate has a focus on full stack development and is passionate about using a mix of established and cutting-edge technologies to develop software to accomplish business objectives.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a Computer Science, Computer Programming or MIS related field
Expert level proficiency of Java 1.8+
Experience with open source Java frameworks such as Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, JDBC, and Hibernate
Experience with Java servlet containers
Experience building high performance webservices within a larger service-oriented architecture
Experience with automated back-end testing frameworks and or tools
Knowledge of JVM, memory management, and optimization
Solid understanding of DevOps processes and tools
Proficient with SQL, and Mysql
Proficient with front end web technologies such as HTML, CSS (Bootstrap), Javascript (Angular, Vue.js)
Excellent foundation in core computer science competencies; data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and design patterns
Must be available for occasional overnight on-call per department demand
Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship

Responsibilities

Write both web and standalone applications in Java for Menards collection of enterprise applications, including E-Commerce, Point of Sale and Design-It applications.
Provide Team Leader weekly updated task information on the tasks that are being worked on
Work with business users; helpdesk, and technical support Team Members to troubleshoot problems as they arise
Actively participate in writing program specifications, developing code, testing, performing code reviews, and establishing coding standards
Work closely with team leaders and project managers in providing timeline and task information through analysis based on a proposed project scope
