About The Position

Sierra is hiring a Software Engineer for its Insights work. The role involves building tools and systems that help developers understand and improve the performance of customer-facing AI agents. This includes analytics and visualization for large volumes of agent-performance data, experimentation capabilities, conversational-data exploration, and proactive monitoring for defects and emerging patterns. Sierra is primarily an in-person company based in San Francisco, with offices across North America, Europe, and Asia.

Requirements

Passion for working on the frontier of AI products.
Motivation and high agency to drive outcomes in a high-autonomy culture.

At least 4 years of hands-on experience building production products and systems.
Experience and comfort building and shipping full-stack solutions.
A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Experience building developer tooling, programming languages, or databases.
Leadership experience on technical projects or teams.

Responsibilities

Build a system to analyze and visualize millions of data points about agent performance.
Enable agent developers to run A/B tests and make data-driven decisions about agent behavior.
Build Explorer, a tool for conversational-data exploration with ChatGPT-like capabilities and AI-powered clustering.
Build systems that proactively monitor agents for defects or new patterns.
