About The Position

RMS is seeking a Software Engineer with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a desire to continue growing as a developer. Candidates should be willing to research and stay current with programming standards and practices. The role offers a flexible, results-oriented work environment using current technology and best practices to continuously improve the team and its software. The Software Engineer upgrades, develops, and integrates code; designs and develops tests and test-automation suites; maintains and enhances existing systems; and collaborates with a small team to develop software and meet long-term goals. The role also includes troubleshooting and correcting bugs in live production environments, using approved code libraries, and applying software development best practices. Applicants are subject to a drug screen and background check per company policies. The role does not currently sponsor visas.

Requirements

Strong back-end development skills with Java.
Suitable educational background and experience in the field.
Experience with code testability standards, JUnit, and Mockito.
Experience with SQL databases, including SQL, stored procedures, and ORM tools.
Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks.
Familiarity with scripting and working in a Linux environment.
Familiarity with design patterns and their uses.
Familiarity with secure coding standards, dependency management, and vulnerability remediation.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and consultative skills.
Experience with C# or other programming languages.
Experience with version control using Git.
Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot.
Professional development experience.

Nice To Haves

Experience with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ.
Experience working on legacy application modernization projects.
Knowledge of machine learning and Python.
Bachelor of Science degree in a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

Upgrade, develop, and integrate existing code.
