About The Position

The Senior Software Engineer will lead the delivery of scoped features and services through collaborative teams, ensuring alignment with platform and business objectives. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions using modern programming languages and development practices. The engineer will integrate AI/ML components, drive continuous improvement, and support operational excellence through proactive monitoring and debugging. Strong technical judgment, effective communication, and a product-driven mindset are essential to translate complex requirements into scalable, maintainable systems that enhance customer and business outcomes. The Creative Platform team is a key part of Walmart’s Advertising Technology organization, delivering production ad tech solutions for over five years. This team develops and maintains tools and services that enable advertisers to build, manage, and measure creative content behind hundreds of millions of daily impressions. Focused on high-impact challenges, the group operates with strong ownership and a product-driven mindset. By connecting supplier brands with over 150 million households annually, the team supports Walmart’s commitment to helping customers save money and live better through innovative advertising experiences.

Requirements

Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and documentation-based coding practices.
Strong technical acumen with experience in code review, debugging, and continuous development.
Demonstrated ability to deliver scoped features or models through collaborative engineering teams.
Proficiency in integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance development.
Experience with software development lifecycle, including CI/CD, automated testing, and monitoring.
Ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions aligned with business goals.
Effective collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Commitment to engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

Responsibilities

Own scoped feature and model delivery through collaborative engineering teams, managing implementation, iteration, testing, and support.
Write clean, efficient, and reliable code across multiple languages, driving full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.
Integrate AI and ML components to enhance software intelligence using internal and external APIs.
Assist in converting high-level designs into detailed, scalable, and maintainable solutions aligned with platform objectives.
Conduct code reviews, debugging, and defect management to ensure software quality and performance.
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and measurable outcomes.
Monitor application performance and support continuous improvement through proactive testing and observability.
